The Thompson/Center Contender single-shot pistol was introduced in the 1960's primarily for hunting and
long range target shooting. The unique aspect of the Contender pistol is the interchangeable barrel system that
allows a the pistol frame to be quickly converted to dozens of different calibers simply by swapping barrels.
The sights (or optics) remain with the barrel, so the pistol holds its zero even when barrels are swapped.
