Description:

The Model 1911 was first manufactured by Colt and adopted by the U.S. Armed Forces in the year 1911 (hence the name). It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the U.S. Armed Forces from 1911 to 1986.

Today, the Model 1911 is made by dozens of different manufacturers, in a variety of calibers, barrel lengths, and configurations. The Model 1911 remians popular with civilian shooters in competitive events, and is still a popular concealed carry pistol.
